“Becky's Schedule of Cool Music Stuff - May 1998”
(a blog we happened upon recently it kind of blows my mind….did we have internet in 98?
thanks for the moment in time Becky, TPF ; )
2 - Solar Folklore festival featuring Disco Biscuits, Jook, Love Child,
Bluesuedegroove's, Veinmelter, Catfish Soup, Hot Pants, and Brown Brain
@ Tussey Mountain Amphitheater, Boalsburg, PA.
This
link represents one of Veinmelters earliest shows just outside State College PA. One
of many gigs since the conception of Veinmelter in 1997. Matt and I have had
the chance to play many gigs with an awesome list of incredible artists and
bands. Notable
appearances have been in combination with Marc Ribot, Los Straitjackets, Kid
Rock, Disco Biscuits and String Cheese Incident, more resent gigs have included
The Heavy Pets, Dirk Quinn Band, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm. The list of venues Veinmelter has played is extensive we started
Vm in State College PA, Played just about every bar in town and many of the
festivals and campus events like Earth Day and the Solar Folklore festival.
Other notable gigs in recent years have taken us to NYC for a battle of bands
called Emergenza in 2006 & 07 where we played incredible rooms:
Crashmansion, Webster Hall, The Bitter End. One more place we played frequently in 2008
was The 8X10 in
Baltimore MD, and a bunch gigs in Philly bars like the Pontiac Grille, The
Khyber, and the old Grape Street Pub in Manayunk PA.
This
summer Veinmelter went back to PA. from AL. for 10 days and 7 dates in July and
will always frequent Pennsylvania. But we have fallen for the Alabama &
Florida Gulf coast this summer playing at The Hangout Gulf Shores, The Wharf’s
many venues, Rafters, Ginny Lane, The Villaggio, plus Cobalt, Cosmo’s, Lulu’s
Home Port and Moe’s Original BBQ, these are on our regular rotation of gigs.

(We loved the venues, the contest was ok, it’s not our bag though we did come in 2nd during our final round gig for our genre.
It was hard at the time to get our people to NYC for the Webster Hall gig we chartered two buses for friends and family,
lots of fun! )
Thanks for checking us out…
